This next Mai Tai I think was the best one that I had. As you can see, NO PINK and a healthy amount of Meyers! It was ordered and drank at a place called "Cheeseburger in Paradise" in Maui. This place actually isn't owned by Jimmy Buffett and he actually tried to sue them because of the name (but lost). It was highly recommended but we were told all the food is awesome except for the Cheeseburgers. We orders lots and it was good. I guess they are branching out of Hawaii but this on in Maui was the original. Very Good Mai Tai!
So when we were in Maui, we headed to a beautiful restaurant on the beach called Big Mama's Fish House. This place is exactly what you would expect... tikis, bamboo, even tropical birds.... the perfect location on the beach.
So we sit down for a few drinks and I decide that I for sure need a Mai Tai from this joint. Well, you'll see a picture of it below...
It isn't pink, which is a good start... it had lots of Meyers, another good start... also a real orchid floating was a nice touch and the tiki glass (similar to ones at the Poly) was a bonus!
The taste was wonderful... full of rum goodness like a Mai Tai should taste.
But the bill was a little out of control... $15 for 1 drink! WOW! While it was good... not sure if it was $15 good, but it was vacation and Hawaii so it was all worth it.
So while in Hawaii we visited the Volcano National Park. Very cool place if you haven't been... anyway, there are lots of stops along the way and at one of the stops I saw this sign...
Is there some sort of problem with people doing this? Why is this sign needed? Could the volcano go all crazy if rocks are piled?
